Mangalampalli Ravikanth was born in India in 1966. He received his B. Sc. And M.Sc. degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad, and PhD from IIT Kanpur, in 1994. After his postdoctoral studies in USA and Japan, he joined the faculty of chemistry at IIT-Bombay, where he is currently a full professor. He was Head of the department from 2021-2024. His current research includes porphyrin and related macrocycles. He has received many prestigious awards in his career.

I am Bhaskar from Kolkata, West Bengal. My research focuses on the design and synthesis of pyrrole-based ligands and their coordination complexes. Outside the lab, I enjoy traveling and cooking.

Pooja Varak
5th year Phd student
Pooja is the only day scholar in our group. She is also hosted by the prestigious PMRF fellowship. She is interested in exploring the chemistry of carbaporphyrinoids. Outsided lab she is interested in gardening, cooking, and painting.

Neha Tripathi
5th year Phd student
Neha is the night owl in our lab who works on the synthesis and studies of phenothiazine-embedded porphyrinoids. She loves listening to music, watching drama and travelling.

Pinky Chauhan
5th year Phd student
Pinky is from Mathura, who did her masters at IIT Guwahati. She is currently interested in designing and synthesising open-chain pyrrole-based ligands and their coordination complexes. Outside the lab, she is interested in travelling.

Akrti Sharma
4th year Phd student
Akrti is a newly joined PhD Student who is currently working on the synthesis of functionalized triphyrins. She is interested in travelling, playing chess and reading non-fiction books.

Debendra Tewary

Debendra is a new Phd student joined our lab via Monash program. His research is focused on synthesis of nitrated highly reactive compounds. His hobbies include playing cricket, chess and travelling..

Jyoti Ranjan Kabi

I am Kabi hailing from Bhubaneswar,Odisha. My research interests focus on synthesis of norroles, and exploring its chemistry. Apart from my work my hobbies are playing badminton, cricket, reading short stories.

My name is Sukhendar Sahani, and I am a PhD student at IIT Bombay. I hail from Bardhaman District in West Bengal. I completed my B.Sc. from Bardhaman University and obtained my M.Sc. from IIT Bombay. Currently, I am exploring the colourful chemistry of Porphycene.

I am Shreya Jain from Delhi, and I hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry from IIT Roorkee. My current research focuses on the design and synthesis of multipyrrolic ligands for coordination chemistry.
Beyond research, I enjoy engaging in activities that keep me both active and creative — particularly badminton and dance, which bring a refreshing balance to my routine outside the lab
